9-Euro-Ticket Refund

What are these refunds for?

During the summer semester of 2022, the semester ticket for students enrolled at the University of Rostock functioned as a 9-Euro-Ticket for the months of June through August. We are now refunding you the difference between the cost of three 9-Euro-Tickets and the cost of the semester ticket over three months. This difference amounts to 35.50 €.

Who is eligible for a refund?

If you had a valid semester ticket in the summer semester of 2022 for which you were not otherwise reimbursed, you are eligible for this refund. This also applies to students who receieved a refund of their semester ticket due to financial hardship.

How can I request a refund?

In order to receive a refund, you can submit a digital request. As a part of this process, you need to confirm your matriculation number. Enrolled students can use their university (ITMZ) accounts to log in. Exmatriculated students will receive individual login information by mail or e-mail from the Student Secretariat. You can also submit a manual request at the AStA office.

How will the payments be made?

The AStA has signed a contract with the Verkehrsverbund Warnow (VVW) which stipulates that the VVW will transfer the refunds. The AStA will provide the VVW with the necessary information for this process.

The refunds will be transferred in intervals. This means that all data collected by a certain date is transmitted to the VVW and then transferred. There will be up to three dates in total.

We expect that the first refunds will be transferred in mid April. More detailed information will be announced here, if necessary, when it becomes available.

Why did this take so long?

After we were finally able to clarify the contractual terms with the Verkehrsverbund Warnow (VVW), executing the technical side of the refund process and waiting for input from various parties unfortunately took up all of January. We sympathize with anyone who is or was displeased with the long wait and are very happy that we can, at last, begin issuing refunds.
