What do I have to do to get the semester ticket?

For the summer semester 2025:

If you only re-register or enrol after 20.03., your ticket will not be activated automatically during the current semester. To do this, you must send an email to buero.asta@uni-rostock.de and submit your current certificate of enrollment. Until the beginning of the next semester, registration for the semester ticket is only possible via e-mail.

How quickly this is done depends on our workload and that of the VVW (Verkehrsverbund Warnow). However, we try to activate the tickets in the app within a few working days.

For the winter semester 2025/26, all students will be automatically registered for the digital semester ticket. If you have already re-registered for the coming semester, you do not need to do anything else. Only those who re-register or enroll at short notice before the start of the semester will not be automatically registered for the semester ticket. In this case, you must validate your student status yourself online via our administration portal. The link to the administration portal will follow as soon as self registration becomes necessary. Where can I find my semester ticket?

The semester ticket is primarily made available in the VVW (Verkehrsverbund Warnow) app. It is still possible to apply for a chip card (see application form below).

You must register in the VVW app with your university email (i.e. create a new account) if you do not have a profile from previous semesters.

Does the semester ticket include bicycle transport?

No, this is not currently planned for the nationwide semester ticket in the overall concept and therefore cannot be implemented by us and the VVW at a local level.
